Yorkshire Delights

As a frequent visitor to the area of Yorkshire I was thinking about all the great places I have visited and repeatedly go back to.

Wetherby is a typical market town with lots of lovely little shops to visit, plenty of independent butchers and bakers and the “Wetherby Whaler” which serves fantastic fish and chips.

I love to visit Harrogate, not least for it’s amazing shops having Crew, Joules, Cath Kidston and Lakeland all on the same road is my idea of heaven!  Bettys Tearoom is one to visit whilst you are there, although I prefer to visit Bettys at RHS Harlow Carr, the queues are much shorter and you get the added bonus of wandering around the beautiful gardens, with lots of great things for the kiddies to do!

Brimham Rocks is a National Trust place where all the family can walk, climb, play hide and seek etc. The ice cream half way round is obligatory of course, and the kids love having their picnic in the open space.  Fountains Abbey is also a fun day out.

Yorkshire is rich in great pubs. My favourite at the moment is The Punch Bowl in Marton cum Grafton, excellent food and ambiance, and definitely try The Crab and Lobster in Thirsk it is exquisite, quirky and a complete treat.
