Feeling Blue

21st July, 2014 | Article By Marie Bonnot

From the large and busy cities in Morocco you arrive in a small town with nothing around it but kilometres of vegetation and small farms. The mountainous drive to the village is beautiful with many wild flowers.

Once you arrive in Chefchaouen you arrive in a new culture, the women are wearing traditional clothing that we rarely see, as they do not let tourists take pictures of them.

The real particularity of this village is the fact that every single house is painted in blue.  Here the tradition is, that each year at a specific time, they all paint their houses in blue, which gives a unique charm to this special village.

It is a great place where you can observe the Moroccan culture from the inside.
