Island Peak Climbing

20th June, 2018 | Article By Mountain Ascend Treks

In the middle of the Everest Region is the Island Peak, a famous mountain amongst climbers. Even a person who has never attempted this climb, should confidently achieve success in 2 days without worrying. Mountain Ascend Treks has scaled Island Peak 25 times. This is often a peak that climbers use to practice on before attempting an Everest Expedition. In effect, this is a warm up peak.

Island peak has always been an attractive peak because even though it lies in the middle of a sea of mountains it is almost always accessible. Furthermore, it is the peak of triumph for beginners; according to the number of summiteers that have reached the top, it appears an obvious choice for mountaineers wishing to enjoy a successful climb. Although it lies in the Everest Region, it is not a scary peak; it does not have fatal features, it does not have massive height, so, it is a mountain that gives you the feel of summitting and fills you up with every reason to believe it even before climbing. Island Peak is not technical – its west face is glaciated and impressive but has no complex features.

By following the trails of  past climbers, we, the beginners, will find the Island Peak as easy as peeling the skin off a banana! And reaching the top is magical, with spectacular views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and others.

To turn your dream into reality, Mountain Ascend Treks provides a full day training on climbing, as well as preparing you for rope climbing. In addition, we give top priority to your safety and design your itinerary with an acclimatisation day in mind.  Our focus is on a successful climb that depends on a well-prepared itinerary and the best logistics. We also believe that taking a small number of climbers and shouldering their responsibilities is easier and safer than taking a large number of climbers. This is the culture of Mountain Ascend Treks that is different from some others.

TO BE NOTED: Before or during the trip, there are certain factors like weather and political situations that are unexpected barriers and out of our control, which will compel us to change your itinerary. In such a case, please try to understand these barriers, but our purpose will always be to follow the itinerary that has been listed and gone through with you before booking the trip.
