The past few months have been difficult for everyone, especially for kids who have been cooped up inside their homes. Although the pandemic is still not a distant nightmare, things have been opening up in cities and people are adapting to the new normal. If you live in Dubai or are planning for a holiday there soon, there are plenty of things for kids in the city. From amusement parks to museums and play areas, Dubai caters to children really well. Here are some of the best things to do in Dubai with kids.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

An attraction inside the Dubai Mall that would entertain not just kids but adults also is the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. Home to one of the biggest suspended water tanks in the world, the Dubai Aquarium has more than 33,000 aquatic animals including sand tiger sharks, manta rays, etc. There is also the underwater zoo, where you get to meet witty otters, cute Humboldt penguins and poisonous snakes. You can also indulge in special experiences such as glass bottom boat tours and shark diving.

OliOli

An interactive play museum for children, OliOli is one of the best places for children between the ages of 2 and 11 years. The place is divided into 8 zones, which include Toshi’s Net, Future Park, Toddler Gallery, Creative Lab, Air, Water, Fort Building, and Cars and Ramps. Each zone offers unique and interesting activites, ensuring that your kids are engaged and entertained at all times during your visit.

Atlantis Aquaventure

If there is one thing that most kids would agree on, it’s that there is nothing more fun than a day spent at the water park. While there is an array of water parks in Dubai, the Atlantis Aquaventure is simply the best! Located in the premises of Hotel Atlantis the Palm, the Atlantis Aquaventure is home to some of the most terrific water slides and rides. If your kids are small, the place also has a dedicated area for younger children. There is also a private beach attached to the water park, where younger kids can play in the sand and the older ones can indulge in water sports.

Dubai Frame

The Dubai Frame may not be your typical thing to do with kids. However, there is a lot that kids can learn here. Located in Zabeel Park, it is known to be the largest photo frame in the world. You can visit the viewing deck on the top of the frame, where you would get to see Old Dubai on one side and New Dubai on the other. Kids can also learn about Dubai’s history and its vision for the future at the museums located at the entrance and exit of ‘The Frame’.

KidZania

KidZania Dubai is an indoor theme park that is fun and educational at the same time. Located inside the Dubai Mall, KidZania is a miniature version of the city, where your kids can choose a profession of their choice. Right from making pizza to working as a doctor, there are scores of professions to choose from and earn money as well. Moreover, parents can relax in the lounge drinking a cup of coffee while the kids have a fun time.

Dubai Desert Safari

There is nothing more wonderful for kids than running under the sky, in a vast space, and the desert safari offers just this. Kids get to have some fun time in the sand, indulging in camel riding, quad biking and sandboarding. Kids above the age of 5 can also go for the thrilling dune bashing ride. Apart from all this, there is entertainment in the form of belly dancing and Tanoura dancing as well. The dinner at the Dubai desert safari also caters to everyone. Most camps offer child-friendly meals too.

La Mer Beach

While there are plenty of beaches in Dubai, La Mer Beach is the best for children. Apart from playing in the water and making sandcastles, there are many other things to entertain kids at this beach. Kids can have a fun time at the Laguna Water Park, pump off all their excess energy at Hawa Hawa, the outdoor trampoline park, and even indulge in some super cool water sports at the beach. All in all, a day at the La Mer Beach should be filled with lots of fun and entertainment for the entire family.

Legoland and Legoland Water Park

If your kids are aged between 2 and 12 years old, you may find it difficult to find rides and slides suitable for them at some of the theme parks in Dubai. Legoland Dubai, is perfect for kids between the ages of 2 and 12 years; part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, it also has Legoland Water Park right next door, where the kids can build their own raft with Lego bricks.

Dubai Fountain Show

This one is a favourite amongst both adults and kids. The Dubai Fountain Show happens every evening on the Burj Lake, right in front of the Dubai Mall. The show starts at 6PM in the evening and lasts for several minutes. The show is repeated every 30 minutes until 11PM. The sight of the fountains dancing along with the music is truly glorious. The best part is that you can watch the show for free, as many times as you want. If you want to make it a bit more exciting, you can go for a boat ride on the Burj Lake to take a closer look at the fountain show.

IMG Worlds of Adventure

Surely, the largest indoor theme park in the world would put your kids in great spirits? Measuring the size of 28 football fields, the IMG Worlds of Adventure is divided into five zones, namely Marvel, Cartoon Network, Lost Valley (Dinosaur Adventure zone), IMG Boulevard and Novo Cinema. Each zone has rides and attractions depending on the theme it is based on.  From thrilling rides for adults to amusing rides for children, IMG Worlds of Adventures is a powerhouse of fun.
