Luxury Costa Rican Vacation

18th February, 2019 | Article By Rancho Cielo

Rancho Cielo sits on a private 24 acre mountainside property with breathtaking views of Playa Hermosa, north Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.

This secluded estate offers the ultimate private getaway for the discerning traveller. We have strived to create a truly environmentally conscious and luxurious experience by combining earth friendly practices and boutique hotel amenities in a private residence.

With 7,200 square feet of space, encompassing six bedrooms and amazing indoor/outdoor spaces, infinity pool and jungle trails Rancho Cielo offers all the room you’ll need to relax and explore.

There is also the amazing feeling of knowing that you are giving back to our community just by being our guest. We donate 1% of our guests payments to the essential water work of The Nicoya Peninsula Waterkeepers. Please see more about their vital work here: www.nicoyawaterkeeper.org

More than this, we really believe that you can live luxuriously and sustainably and whist our clients leave Rancho Cielo feeling rejuvenated, so does mother nature as we plant a tree for each guest. We also run educational programes for our staff. They are all learning English and also computer skills all paid for by the company.

Wellness is an essential part of the philosophy behind Rancho Cielo and we work with world class local individuals and businesses in the field of nutrition, raw food, juice cleanses, yoga, personal training and general healing to ensure our clients leave us lighter and brighter and ready to get back to their daily lives.

So, start the day off with a farm to table breakfast prepared with eggs from our own chickens and fruit from our hillside orchards. Spend the day relaxing by the pool, or let the Rancho Cielo concierge book an in house message, private yoga class, surf lesson or a nature packed trip up the coast to Curu national park with kayaks, wildlife and deserted beaches to explore. Enjoy walking the estate’s private trail to Hermosa beach or take in the sights while our staff drive you in one of our open air 4X4 vehicles. Our team is at your disposal and available round the clock.

Whether you are coming to Costa Rica to relax and rejuvenate, enjoy new experiences or surf out the door, our staff at Rancho Cielo look forward to sharing the private estate with you.

Our rate is $2850.00 per night plus 13% sales.

We believe that there is a green luxury hospitality movement gathering pace globally and we are going to be at the forefront of it here in Santa Teresa.

“…According to a study by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the percentage of US companies with travel reservation policies that require or recommend that a hotel adopt sustainability measures has risen from 11% in 2011, to 19% today. ”

From the actual design of the house to the reforestation program for the 26 acre estate, to all the staff living within a 2 mile radius from RC, to the bio-degradable products used to clean the house, to the rainwater catchment system, to the solar panels, to the green hosting company we use for the website, to the farm to table eggs, honey, herbs and fruit from our farm that we use to make breakfasts for our clients…the list goes on and on and we are aiming to increase our green credentials further this year too.

To get to Rancho Cielo, you can fly to San Jose or Liberia airports and then we can arrange private charter flights to Tambor, followed by a 35 minute taxi ride. Alternatively, we can book you a helicopter that brings you right to our door, landing on the property. Travelers to Costa Rica primarily come from the USA and Canada but with more direct routes opening up from Europe, we believe that more global explorers will arrive from there too! There are planned direct flights from Thompson / First Choice from London Heathrow from this coming autumn which would see direct flights from London to San Jose becoming around 10 hours, instead of the two flight minimum now required that sees the journey at around 16hrs to 30 hrs dependant on which route you take.

We look forward to welcoming you.
