Legoland Malaysia

23rd March, 2015 | Article By Judy Kong Jing

It was just before Christmas, I went to the Legoland Resort with my mummy. We took a taxi from Senai Airport, Johor Bahru and it took one and a half hours to get to the resort.

When we arrived, we saw that the theme park is located beside the Legoland Resort hotel. The outside of the hotel is covered with different types of bricks in different colours and there are 4 huge Mini-figures standing around the hotel, 2 warriors standing in front of the resort’s main door and a GIANT green dragon!  As we walked to the lobby we saw two columns of Lego bricks for kids to play with.

There are different themes for every room and also different characters standing around the corners or hanging up on the walls.  There are 3 types of themed rooms: the Kingdom Themed Suite, Adventure Themed Suite and Pirate Themed Suite.  I chose to stay in the Kingdom Themed Suite with my mum.

On our second day there, we woke up early and excited and had our breakfast. Then, we took the lift to the basement and walked to Legoland Park, but we were too early – the park was still closed!

When the gate opened, we were treated to an opening ceremony. Some people in Mini-figures costumes were dancing. We had bought our tickets online so we lined up at the express counter and entered the park fast.

We saw lots of characters built of Lego, such as the Ribena Berry and Maybank’s Logo. We went on a small train ride that took us around the whole park. Then we visited different buildings built using thousands of Lego, including Menara Kuala Lumpur (The Kuala Lumpur Tower) and our KLIA airport. There was also a big red dinosaur carrying a red box, it was so cute, and also a huge giraffe across a building. Remember ALL of these were made up of Lego!

We ate our lunch at the Asian Deli. The most delicious food was Nasi Lemak (coconut rice, chicken and anchovies).

After our lunch we walked around and we saw a musical instrument water fountain. All of the musical instruments were made of Lego. We went to a show, it was a magic show. My mum went on a merry-go-round and I was very busy taking photos everywhere.

We visited a souvenir shop to buy something, we bought some stickers for my mum’s school and I bought 5 colourful Christmas ornaments.

We had our tea break at Pizza Mania, the pizza was delicious. After we had our pizza we walked around again until the ‘Light Up The Christmas Tree’ show!

After having spent the whole day in the park, we were very tired. We returned to our hotel and before we went back to our room, I bought a Christmas log at The Brick Restaurant.

The next day, we took a taxi back to the airport. We had an amazing adventure at Legoland Hotel and Legoland Resort Park.  There is also a Water Park in the resort which I will definitely visit one day!

I would recommend anyone visiting Johor Bahru in Malaysia to visit this wonderful resort. And your kids will LOVE it!
