Annapurna Region Trekking

28th January, 2018 | Article By Ramesh Luintel

The center slopes of Nepal are overwhelmed by the Annapurna region. The Annapurna Conservation Area is hugely diverse, both topographically and socially. This region gives you unparalleled access to astounding skylines of snow-topped mountains and an intriguing insight into the life of the Nepalese people and their wide culture. There are numerous ethnic gatherings living and working the region, from Hindu agriculturists to Tibetan Lamas. The most unmistakable ethnic gatherings in the Annapurna region are the Gurung, the Thakali and the Manangba. Because of the geological differences, the region contains a wide variety of verdure; from sub-tropical swamp woodlands of oak, bamboo and rhododendron in the south to the high snow capped knolls, deep crevasse and desolate levels in the north, flanking Tibet.

You can locate some of Nepal’s most famous trekking courses in Annapurna. Any trek in this region is an experience to remember.

Mardi Himal Trek

Mardi Himal Trek is the briefest and best grand trail which reaches the base of the Mountain. Whilst trekking you will see the awesome perspectives of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu Himalaya in your view. The Mardi Himal Trek was opened to vacationers in 2012 and gives you a little bit of everything: town, woodland and wilderness. One of the best things about the Mardi Himal Trek is when you are at low camp, and have the chance to see the great spectacle of Machhapuchhare mountain at sunrise and sunset.

Annapurna Circuit Trek

The Annapurna Circuit trek is a great trek in the Himalayas of Nepal. Bringing together all the components that make for an amazing experience, the Annapurna Circuit trek is simply epic! You’ll have the opportunity to witness dazzling high mountain landscapes, explore marsh homesteads and towns and trek through awe-inspiring scenery. The Annapurna Circuit trek is a remarkable experience for yearning adventurers.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is an ideal mix of nature and social investigation. The course to Annapurna Base Camp goes through serene scenes, warm and inviting Gurung and Magar towns, blooming Rhododendrons, bamboo and high woodlands.

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking incorporates high mountains such as: Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Mt. Annapurna first (8091 m), Mt. Manaslu (8163 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7041m), Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Machhapuchhre (6998 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441 m) and Mt. Lamjung Himal (6986 m).

The Annapurna Base Camp trek also takes in Ghorepani Poon Hill, known for its dawn and dusk mountain vistas; Mount Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna Range, and Mount Machhapuchhre too, become visible from this specific point.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is considered by many as one the best short treks in Nepal. You’ll find yourself gazing through the mist at the mighty Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, lost in your thoughts; how small human beings are in comparison. You will, no doubt, leave with an altogether different view on life. Gurung and Magar are the local communities in this region. On day 5 of this trek you will stay at Ghorepani, rising at an early hour the following morning to stroll up to Poon Hill to see the sunrise. It will end up being a long lasting memory that you will treasure forever. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is viewed as a simple trail – anyone can attempt this trekking be it a family with kids or a genuine globe-trotter – this trek is also known as the ‘Annapurna Sunrise Trek’.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek

A short trek with few height issues, this trail takes us through a regularly changing scene; rice fields, dim woods and marsh, local towns and icy mass. It offers the opportunity to surround oneself with Himalayan Peaks uncommonly seeing the ice sheet bowl of the Annapurna Sanctuary framed by Annapurna, Machhapurchre (Fishtail, Himchuli, and Manaslu). This used to be a rather complicated trek because of issues with sustenance and cabin arrangements. However, numerous new offices in Ghandruk and Base Camp have opened making life easier for trekkers. Annapurna Base Camp can be approached by no less than three distinct courses, here I have depicted one of three choices.
